I challenged myself to make a model that was optimzed for mobile and tablet games. To this end, I decided to use a single albedo map for the texturing but baked the lighting onto it in Substance to capture the details from the high poly bake.
This worked well with the chosen style which was more on the stylized side. Finally, I made the model for use in top-down games which offers more opportunities for keeping things simple and low-poly.
The model was made in Blender, where I used blueprints for reference but only kept details that I felt were central to the car and modeled the back to be a cargo bay as this was a farming vehicle.
I mostly relied on the remesh workflow to produce the high poly and made extensive use of floating details
I used Marmoset Toolbag 4 for baking and textured it in Substance Painter
